Although our finalized garden does not include many of the original plans, Caitlin went to a free plant collection day at John Muir High School and brought lots of plants back! We also allowed other families to get some plants to put in their gardens as well!
YELLOW TOMATO Who doesn't want a little color in their food source?! Not only are yellow tomatoes drenched in antioxidants, they allow a nutritious balanced diet for the recipes we plan to make. Perhaps a pasta with yellow tomato sauce, salad, or a pizza with yellow tomatoes? We'll see when they bloom! GHOST PEPPER WAOOOO!!! Our throats are already burning! We attempted to plant this unique vegetable as it has a very intense kick that gives diversity to our crops. CAULIFLOWER Known as broccoli's lesser liked cousin, cauliflower makes a great addition to dishes. Whether you are eating it was rice or salad, it neutralizes the other flavors of recipes. It also adds as a healthy nutritional snack. SPINACH An iconic vegetable, we hope to create something incredibly unique with cooked spinach. Follow us and find out what the dishes are once the plants mature! BIG-BEEF RED TOMATO Yum yum yum! A delicious tomato is as good as an apple. Lots of acid and antioxidants, super nutritious. We hope to make a tomato-based dish like a tomato topping for a pizza or possibly put it in a salad. PARSLEY Parsley is a delicious spice that can spruce up an entire meal. 'Nuff said. NATURAL TEA When you have time, you should always spill tea! We hope to create a unique drink after we sprout and dry up the tea leaves. Perhaps we will create an iced tea, boba milk tea, or even tea eggs? CILANTRO Delicious when garnished over tacos, we decided to plant cilantro as a condiment to our potential dishes.
